Overview
The Hellenic Institute of Transport (CERTH-HIT) and the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers (HITE) co-organize the "12th International Congress on Transportation Research" (ICTR 2025), which will be held on October 16-18, 2025, in Thessaloniki, Greece. The spotlight theme of the 2025 Congress is 'Transportation in the era of Artificial Intelligence'.
The conference will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming transportation through advancements in mobility, autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, sustainability, ethical considerations and supply chain optimization, shaping the future of urban mobility and logistics.
The ICTR has been a major event in the field of transportation research and development for the past 23 years. The local and international academic and research community, along with the public sector and industry have actively participated and supported the ICTR series for over two decades. The forthcoming ICTR 2025 aspires to host innovative research and development work in transportation and mobility, in Greece and abroad. The ICTR 2025 aims to present cutting-edge research in transportation, bridge research findings with policymaking efforts, and foster knowledge exchange at both local and international levels. It seeks to draw insights and develop recommendations for translating research outcomes into real-world applications. Practitioners interested in showcasing applications and practical uses of research are highly encouraged to participate.
Submissions on the following topics are strongly encouraged (submitted work in other topics relevant to transportation will be considered as well):
- AI Applications in Transportation and Mobility
- AI and Autonomous Vehicles
- Big data in Transportation
- Smart Infrastructures and Traffic Management
- Sustainability in Transportation
- AI in Transport Modelling
- Electromobility
- AI Driven Public Transportation Planning and Operations
- Traffic Safety
- Resilience and Security
- Logistics & Supply Chain management
The ICTR 2025 will receive and evaluate papers in two tracks: full research papers submitted by research groups and/or individuals, and papers submitted by groups or individual young researchers (undergraduate students, post-graduate and doctoral students up to 30 years old), optionally with their academic advisor as the only senior co-author.
Furthermore, research oriented, industry/market and public sector relevant workshops will be held, following submissions of workshop proposals.
Submissions of papers will be completed in two phases (initially abstracts and subsequently full-text papers), through the ICTR 2025 website, according to the following time schedule:
